Makes 1 serving.

Perfect for a re-watch (or re-read) of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!

Ingredients:

  • Ice cubes
  • 1/2 kiwi (cubed) (or 1/4 cup honeydew melon, or another green fruit)
  • A few berries (preferably blueberries)
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 2 drops of mint extract
  • A splash of melon liqueur (don’t overdo it!)
  • Seltzer water / club soda

Instructions:

  1. Put 4 or 5 ice cubes in your cocktail shaker. Put 2 ice cubes in a pint glass (or another 14-16 oz. glass).
  2. Prepare the green fruit. Put it and the berries in the pint glass and set aside.
  3. Make the 2 tbsp. of hot water and mix it with 2 tsp of matcha powder and 1 tsp sugar (if using). Once dissolved, add it to the cocktail shaker.
  4. Add the 1 oz of vodka, 2 drops of mint extract, and a splash of melon liqueur to the cocktail shaker.
  5. Put the strainer & cap on the cocktail shaker, then shake for 15-20 seconds (or until the outside of the shaker is visibly chilled).
  6. Take the cap off the cocktail shaker and strain the contents into the pint glass with the berries.
  7. Stir the drink in the class, then top with seltzer water/club soda. Enjoy!

Background:

I was unsatisfied by the other recipes I found for polyjuice potion cocktails. I came up with this cocktail by looking at several different recipes for polyjuice potions and other cocktails, then synthesized the parts that I liked into one drink. I’m rather happy with how this one turned out – it tastes good and certainly looks like a polyjuice potion!
