It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, so I decided to post about some of the projects I’ve been working on lately. Hopefully you’re all faring well and staying safe in these pandemic times! I got pretty stir crazy the first few days after the stay-at-home order, but I gave myself a semblance of a routine (i.e., I make a fresh to-do post it list with easy, medium, and hard things to accomplish each day and if I knock off 5 of them, it is a good day) and I try to go for drives when I get too stir crazy, just to go out and see new scenery.

Since I have more time to think about projects, here are some of the non-household chores I’ve been working on over the past few days, weeks, and months:

  • Reading all the library books I got out before the public libraries closed down (only 1 left!)
  • Reading all the books I own that I haven’t read yet (9 left!)
  • Translating a book from Spanish to English (<– for my own edification, we’ll see if the author and/or publisher are interested in releasing it in English. I’m working on cleanup edits so the translation reads more naturally in English.)
  • Expanding my poetry collection (<– There was a day a few months ago where I wanted to read some poems and couldn’t find the two poetry books I thought I still owned, so I went out to Barnes & Noble and bought several… which summoned one of the missing books!)
  • Playing games (most recently, Beholder and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order)
  • Working on a scifi novella (inspired by librarian drama, I need to rework the ending because I’m not happy with it)
  • Writing and collecting my poetry (I didn’t realize how much I’ve written… @_@)
  • Mulling over a new story idea (it’ll be a blast! it’s weird and fun and I just need to put it on paper)
  • Editing my novel (the perennial struggle! I’m realizing it may make the most sense told from one character’s point of view…. and my first few drafts and outlines went from one POV character to 6 to 4 to… a different 4, and I thought that was best, but if it was, I probably would feel more inspired to work on it. Stay tuned for more developments on that front!)
