Like many of you, my partner and I enjoy watching movies. Every now and then (especially for movies we’ve seen several times before), we play a drinking game. Normally, we just look up rules online, but sometimes we find them lackluster. Last weekend, we drew inspiration from the Internet, tweaked a few rules, and made up our own Star Wars: Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker drinking game!
Rules:
NOTE: I define a “drink” in this context as a sip of a drink, not downing a whole one!
Regular Mode:
During the movie, take a drink whenever:
- Someone goes to a new planet.
- Anyone mentions Luke.
- Someone tries spinning as a good trick.
- Someone repeats a line for comedy.
- Reylo happens.
- A character is sidelined.
- John Williams has a cameo (there’s just one, but his music elevates this film)!
- Babu Frik says “HEY HEEEEEY!”
At the end of the movie, take a shot to:
- Honor all the great acting despite the bad plot.
- Honor John Williams’s score for the sequel trilogy.
HARD MODE:
All of the stuff from Regular Mode, PLUS:
During the movie, take a drink whenever:
- There’s involuntary spinning.
- A ship blows up.
- There should have been a Wilhelm Scream.
- There’s a missed opportunity.
- Rey uses the Force.
At the end of the movie, take a shot to:
- Honor all the missed opportunities in the film.
